Job Title: Varsity Lacrosse Assistant Head Coach Reports to: Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach / Director of Athletics Role Duration: Seasonal, Part-Time starting in January 2026 Job Description Ashley Hall is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach to support the Head Coach in leading our Varsity Lacrosse program. The Assistant Coach will help develop players’ skills, foster teamwork, and promote a positive and competitive environment that reflects Ashley Hall’s mission of empowering young women through athletics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching the game of lacrosse, committed to student growth, and eager to contribute to a culture of excellence on and off the field.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of lacrosse fundamentals, effective communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for mentoring student-athletes in both athletic and personal development.
Major Responsibilities
Coaching & Leadership: Provide support to the Head Coach in delivering mentorship, guidance, and leadership to student-athletes. Promote an environment that emphasizes growth, confidence, and teamwork. Model integrity, sportsmanship, and respect, helping to establish a culture of excellence both on and off the field.
Player & Skill Development: Assist in planning and executing effective practices that enhance player fundamentals, tactical understanding, and overall game awareness. Offer individualized feedback to help athletes develop their skills and achieve their athletic potential while fostering a strong work ethic and love for the game.
Practice & Game Support: Work collaboratively with the Head Coach to prepare the team for competition through organized practices, scouting, and in-game strategy. Assist with game‑day logistics, including setup, sideline management, and tactical adjustments. Support effective communication and composure during competitions to promote a positive and disciplined team presence.
Program Operations & Administration: Assist with maintaining and organizing team equipment, uniforms, and supplies. Support communication between players, coaches, and parents regarding schedules, travel logistics, and team updates. Contribute to the coordination of practices, contests, and events in alignment with the program’s goals and school standards.
Athlete Mentorship & Academic Support: Serve as a role model for student‑athletes by reinforcing leadership, accountability, and academic balance. Encourage players to pursue excellence in the classroom and on the field while promoting teamwork, perseverance, and respect.
Collaboration & Community Engagement: Collaborate with the Head Coach, athletic department, and other school staff to ensure the lacrosse program aligns with Ashley Hall’s mission and values. Represent the Athletics Department positively at practices, games, and community events, contributing to team spirit and program visibility.
Key Requirements
1–3 years of lacrosse coaching or playing experience (high school, club, or collegiate level preferred).
Strong understanding of lacrosse fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
Energetic, positive communicator who is passionate about teaching and mentoring young athletes.
Commitment to attending all practices, games, and team events, including evenings and weekends during the season.
US Lacrosse Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
Additional Requirements
Current or ability to attain CPR certification upon hire.
Completion of all required Ashley Hall and SCISA paperwork.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check, reference checks, and medical requirements.
Time Commitment
Start Date 1/15/2026
In Season - 5-6 days of practice and Games
Off Season responsibilities - TBD
