Job Description At Uncommon, our Office Managers (OMs) play a central role on our School Operations Teams in ensuring that students, families, and staff have the information and resources they need to succeed. In our schools, we have three Office Managers:
Office Manager – Communications ,
Office Manager – Data & Systems , and
Office Manager – Finance . All Office Managers coordinate day‑to‑day operations systems and routines that allow the school to run seamlessly.
Responsibilities: Office Manager – Communications
Serve as the primary contact for all school constituents in person, over the phone, and via email.
Enroll new students and re‑enroll current students.
Maintain daily student attendance and operational systems.
Keep student information and files up to date.
Plan and support logistics and set‑up for school events and activities as needed.
Responsibilities: Office Manager – Data & Systems
Manage bill pay and accounting.
Oversee procurement and supply management for all students, staff, and event supplies.
Maintain accurate Student Information Systems for the school and local school system.
Serve as the secondary contact for all school constituents in person, over the phone, and via email.
Plan and support logistics and set‑up for school events and activities as needed.
Responsibilities: Office Manager – Finance
Manage bill pay and accounting.
Oversee procurement and supply management for all students, staff, and event supplies.
Plan and support logistics and set‑up for school events and activities as needed.
Qualifications
Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal ability.
Organized and able to maintain key systems such as attendance, vendor deliveries, student documentation, and paperwork.
Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor amid competing demands and external pressures.
Strong time‑management skills; able to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Achieve accuracy and thoroughness when completing tasks.
1 to 3 years of teaching or school administrative office experience.
Spanish‑speaking skills strongly preferred to support communication with students, families, and community members.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Compensation Compensation for this role is between $19.00 and $26.01 per hour. Most candidates who meet job‑description requirements will receive an offer of $19.00–$20.55 per hour. Starting pay is determined using various factors including relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
