Job Overview
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will support Clinical Research Nurses (CRN) at Georgetown University’s Clinical Research Unit (CRU). The CRC will assist with study and standard-of-care patient care, laboratory specimen handling, DXA scanning, and other clinical lab support activities to enable the CRU’s clinical trial operations.
Responsibilities
Assist CRNs with clinical research and standard of care tasks and off-site visits
Take vital signs, perform ECGs, phlebotomy, and other clinical procedures
Pick up and deliver drugs from Research and Main Pharmacy
Transport subjects to and from locations
Independent review of medical records for health and bone history
Maintain quality control of the DXA unit
Act as a receptionist as needed
Process, store and ship laboratory specimens
Maintain IATA certification
Perform, analyze, and report DXA scan results for research and standard of care studies
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or equivalent
Prior experience performing clinical assistant, phlebotomy, and clinical research assistant functions
BLS certification required; IV insertion skills, DXA and bilingual experience a plus
International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) certification to be obtained within the first year if not already held
Work Interactions The CRC reports directly to the CRU Nurse Manager and works under the supervision of Clinical Research Nurses. The CRC serves as the DXA operation expert and collaborates with the DXA training coordinator for scan training and certification.

Pay Range $20.16 – $31.30 per hour.
