Traveling Lead Superintendent – Structural Steel
Location:
Mid-Atlantic – First project in Maryland (Travel Required)
Salary:
Per diem provided; depends on experience.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Superintendent with strong expertise in structural steel construction to oversee multi-level commercial and industrial projects. This role requires a proven leader who can effectively manage job sites, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain strict safety and quality standards while traveling to various project locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all field operations on structural steel-focused projects, ensuring schedule, safety, and quality compliance.
Coordinate steel deliveries, sequencing, and erection to minimize downtime.
Enforce and uphold site-wide safety standards across multiple subcontractors and trades.
Manage field conflicts, mis-fabrications, and schedule delays while keeping the project on track.
Conduct and coordinate inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specs, codes, and client requirements.
Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships while ensuring accountability.
Report progress, issues, and updates to project managers and clients.
Motivate crews to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
Drive quality installation with precision in multi-level structural steel projects.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Superintendent with a strong focus on structural steel projects, capable of taking on all levels.
Proven track record leading multi-level and large-scale projects from start to finish.
Deep understanding of steel erection, sequencing, inspections, and tolerances.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong safety background and ability to manage busy sites with multiple trades.
Willingness to travel frequently to job sites.
