Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor of Patient Accounts Billing - Brooklyn. In this role, the successful candidate will oversee daily operations to ensure accurate, timely, and customer‑centered services related to patient financial support, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective team performance while helping patients access available financial assistance and coverage options.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate daily workflow and operations of Patient Financial Services.

Supervise staff in billing and follow‑up phases.

Conduct routine audits of registration and admission records.

Monitor staff performance for timely billing and reduce accounts receivable.

Maintain accurate records for productivity metrics, staff schedules, and timekeeping.

Obtain feedback from employees and allow for individual initiative.

Escalate accounts as needed to leadership.

Oversee assessment of patients seeking financial services, including Medicaid eligibility and internal assistance programs.

Ensure proper screening, referral, and documentation for enrollment in coverage programs.

Supervise insurance verification and pre‑authorization processes.

Oversee claim submission and follow‑up on open accounts, troubleshoot billing issues.

Collaborate with financial counselors and other departments to provide financial aid resources.

Coordinate responses to internal and external audits.

Conduct quality audits and pursue root cause analysis for continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with internal standards, federal and state regulations, HIPAA, and organizational policies.

Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing education to staff.

Manage staff schedules and monitor attendance.

Conduct performance reviews and document improvement plans.

Perform data analysis to identify trends and propose corrective actions.

Promote excellent customer service and maintain communication with external partners.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 2–4 years of equivalent healthcare experience or equivalent education and experience.

Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and maintain functional relationships with personnel at all levels.

Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory or lead experience within Financial Counseling or related revenue cycle department.

College degree or coursework.

Proficiency in imaging, reporting, spreadsheet, and similar programs.

Understanding of basic medical terminology.

Salary: $64,350.00 – $65,000.00 annually.
