Cleans/Terminal cleans/sanitize assigned areas in accordance with operating procedures using proper equipment, chemicals and supplies. Prepares patient rooms for occupancy per operating procedures and enters data into the approved room‑ready notification system. Maintains all equipment/closets used to perform the job in a clean and orderly condition; cleans all equipment at the end of the shift. Performs specialized cleaning procedures in accordance with operating procedures (e.g., CCU procedure room, nurseries, isolation rooms). Maintains cleanliness of environment: kitchen area, med rooms, employee bathrooms, janitor closet, refrigerators, microwave, etc., all clinical equipment on unit, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, bedside tables, IV poles; reports equipment problems to the charge nurse. Sets up meetings and supplies A/V equipment. Buffs tile floors, spot cleans carpets, buffs carpets in corridors and rooms; moves cleaning equipment and supplies between hospital buildings; moves furniture as requested. Performs all duties independently with little or no supervision. Removes general trash, medical waste, soiled/used linen from work area and places in specified bags/containers; transports to assigned disposal area. Handles cleaning chemicals and solutions per product labeling and departmental procedures. Utilizes housekeeping equipment safely and efficiently. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment as per training, signage and product labels; adheres to safety regulations (e.g., wet‑floor signs, caution tape, electrical cords along walls). Participates in in‑service educational programs and staff meetings. Performs other work related duties as requested or directed. Qualifications

Ability to communicate in English, to understand and respond to basic verbal and written English instructions. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position as outlined. Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 3 months of new position for positions in the In‑Patient Psych Unit. Positive attitude; pleasant, cooperative, committed to a team approach; displays professional demeanor with patients, families, physicians and coworkers. Purpose of Position

Perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain all inpatient and outpatient areas, offices, corridors, stairwells, elevators, furniture, public and other assigned areas of the hospital in a clean, sanitary and safe condition, in accordance with all operating procedures, infection control and safety policies. Displays proper conduct when dealing with patients, visitors and all hospital staff. Schedule Details

16 hours per week, rotating days, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., every other weekend and every other holiday. Organization and Location
