Responsibilities Summer Analyst will support the Related Midwest Affordable team and be involved in all aspects of affordable real estate acquisitions and development, including financial analysis and modeling, site acquisition, due diligence, legal document review and negotiation, and community and resident engagement. The Associate will prepare detailed financial analyses and models, including those for transaction underwriting, and will provide key takeaways to the business unit.

Perform financial underwriting analysis and due diligence for new affordable acquisition investment opportunities.

Assist with tax credit applications for the City of Chicago and/or IHDA.

Track rehab progress on ongoing process.

Conduct site visits and assist with asset management of existing portfolio.

Evaluate operations of properties in our portfolio to provide recommended avenues for improvement.

Compensation The hourly rate for this position is $45 per hour.

Qualifications Related’s Summer Analyst Program aims to train and evaluate the next generation of leaders. To be considered for the 2026 Summer Analyst program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Current undergraduate junior with a target graduation date between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

A strong passion for real estate development.

Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; expertise with Excel.

Exhibits a strong understanding of technical skills and job‑specific knowledge.

Demonstrates clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Self‑starter with a proactive approach to tackling tasks and challenges.

Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment.

Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate Finance or Real Estate Development.

Resume must include expected graduation month/year and GPA.
