Research Scientist in Information Systems on Cybersecurity and FinTech Contract Type: Permanent

We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications.

Your role The successful candidate will become a member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust within the FINATRAX Team, led by Prof. Gilbert Fridgen.

Drive research in information systems engineering within the FINATRAX group by tackling fundamental research problems that matter to both theory and practice

Attract funding in cooperation with industry partners

Contribute to national, European and international research proposals (e.g., FNR funding, Horizon, etc.)

Lead and coordinate research projects and ensure timely and high-quality outputs

Publish in top-tier outlets, contributing to the strategic goals of SnT and FINATRAX

Supervise and mentor PhD, BSc and MSc students

Engage in teaching activities of the FINATRAX team

Help organize workshops and demonstrations

Participate in outreach activities and share your expertise with different audiences

Your profile

A PhD degree in Information Systems, Business Informatics, or a related field

Relevant postdoctoral research experience in a related interdisciplinary research context and an interest in coordinating interdisciplinary team science

Demonstrated experiences in at least one of the group’s focus areas, i.e., FinTech, Security, Privacy, Artificial Intelligence or Energy

Competitive research record in information systems with publications in top conferences and journals in the field (e.g., ECIS, ICIS, EM, BISE, AIS Basket Journals, etc.).

Proven track record of strong service commitment to the research community (e.g., conference organization, editorial roles, mentoring)

Experience with European, national, and/or industrial projects

Project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Strong expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, as well as data collection and advanced statistical analysis

Proven track record of teaching in information systems or related fields

Excellent teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking abilities

Proven record of supervising students at the Ph.D., bachelor's, and master's levels

Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
