Summary Working with internal customers from various departments, the Production Planner is required to effectively coordinate the production planning and scheduling activities in order to meet customer demand and achieve target inventory and service levels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, establish, maintain, and communicate a 4‑6 week production schedule for injection molded operations, assembled fittings and fabricated fittings.
Be an advocate for and track schedule adherence at the plants.
Manage production scheduling of multi‑level routing and dependent requirements.
Develop finished goods production targets, as well as WIP requirements from forecast and historical demand.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Customer Service, Warehouse and Shipping to meet production and customer requirements, including executing schedule changes in coordination with Operations and Customer Service and working with Customer Service to improve on‑time deliveries.
Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
Work with Plant Managers and Purchasing to arrange manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
Establish and communicate weekly frozen schedule with Operations.
Schedule Make‑to‑Order items – includes establishing dates, defining minimum quantity, filling orders to meet required ship dates and advising the Customer Service team.
Maintain inventory target on a monthly basis. Manage safety stocks effectively, account for stock transfer lead time and demand variability.
Work with S&OP and Capacity analysis team to follow the strategy for long‑term planning.
Review demand inputs, such as orders, forecast, inventory levels, in the ERP and outside of the system to make decisions regarding supply planning.
Knowledge of master data including material master, MRP, BOMs, routing and ECN process.
Monitor and maintain MRP planning parameters for responsible manufactured items.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field.
5+ years of supply chain or other relevant experience.
Proficient computer skills in MS Excel, Access, Word and Outlook.
APICS certification is preferred.
Experience with SAP is preferred, but similar ERP experience is acceptable such as AX Microsoft Dynamics.
Able to multi‑task and display a high level of company/team spirit in a fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
