Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Department Manager/Team Lead)
Job Description:
Velocity Architecture and Engineering DPC, a company of BRAVO Group, has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced manager and Electrical Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical and fire alarm system design for vertical buildings with a strong focus in the educational sector. This individual will work collaboratively with our tightly knit MEP and architectural teams, while overseeing and managing the Electrical Engineering department, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, technical excellence, and team development.
Roles & Responsibilities This individual will be responsible for the oversight and guidance of the Electrical Engineering team in their day-to-day work, which includes assessing existing conditions, preparing scope reports to record findings and technical recommendations, preparing detailed calculations to validate recommendations, and developing detailed construction documents and specifications. This role focuses on team leadership, workload management, and quality control.
Minimum Requirements
10+ years' experience working in a consulting engineering firm for various projects. Buildings experience in NYC is required; a background in the educational and/or public sector is strongly preferred
Demonstrated management and leadership experience within an engineering team
Strong knowledge of the various New York City codes
Ability to think critically and assess each project, including staff allocation, independently with only high-level guidance from senior leadership
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York is strongly preferred. Individuals who have their FE and are actively pursuing licensure will be considered.
LEED accreditation (Preferred)
Latest AutoCAD experience required, REVIT experience a plus
Capable of using standard Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program #ZR
Salary: $130,000 USD - $180,000 USD
