Position Summary Performs on‑site technical and administrative duties within a manufacturing environment at Quaker Houghton’s customer account under the direction of senior staff or management.
Job Accountabilities
Has working knowledge of customer products and processes and seeks opportunities for improving the customer’s processes and their application of Quaker Houghton products.
Performs on‑site technical and administrative duties in a manufacturing environment, including ordering and recording inventory of chemical products.
Acquires, records, and analyzes process and usage data; recognizes and explains the quantifiable benefits of a service or product performance; reports and interprets all results daily.
Properly maintains tools and utility equipment such as pumps, sump suckers, and coolant dispensers safely and efficiently.
Inspects and performs routine maintenance on all equipment and fluid systems, including product additions, filter changes, and sump cleaning.
Leads and conducts meetings, anticipates customer requests, and delivers concise next steps after reviewing value proposition and best practices.
Implements and follows safety protocols, performs pre‑task plans and all pre‑operation inspections.
Collects, analyzes, tests, interprets, and records machine samples; recommends and completes corrective actions independently.
Performs and interprets bio‑stick dip tests of sump and central systems; recommends corrective actions.
Monitors and maintains coolant filters, washers, paint systems, and air handling systems; ensures fluids remain within proper limits.
Adds chemicals—including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners, and biocides—to fluid systems as needed.
Supports reporting regarding project and process information or improvements; works flexibly as required.
Work Environment Work in an office environment and in a manufacturing environment; may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and trip and slip hazards. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is loud. Maintain a safety mindset, uphold the highest EHS standards, and maintain the highest EHS standards at the customer’s site.
Education, Experience, Skills & Competencies Education Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or equivalent experience; knowledge of chemistry or science.
Experience One to two years of related experience in manufacturing, with at least one year in chemical management services or metalworking processes.
Skills and Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to lead and facilitate effective meetings. Demonstrates basic mathematical skills and proficiency in data analysis and interpretation. Organized and able to manage multiple demands, establish priorities, and respond to unanticipated situations. Proficient with Internet software, e‑mail, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and project tracking. Working knowledge of ERP software and database software.
