Overview
OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN III-14 at DCO Energy, LLC (DCO Operations - Hartford, LLC). Responsibilities
Performs operations and maintenance duties at DCO Operations – Hartford, LLC facilities. Responsible for the proper operation of combined heat and power facilities while on shift. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Gas Compressor, Air Compressors, Boilers, Chillers, Motors, Pumps, and other auxiliary equipment. Follows safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety. Works under the direction of the Operations and Maintenance Manager. Supports and operates plant equipment and systems in coordination with a team as required. Operates and maintains metering equipment and instrumentation; records readings and maintains documentation as required. Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair facility equipment and ensure equipment is operated within operating range. Utilizes a computerized Maintenance Management System and participates in the facility maintenance program. Lays out work, prepares layouts and as-built schematics of job installations; plans and coordinates installation, start-up and follow-up. Keeps records of inspections and maintenance of equipment, buildings and facilities as assigned or directed. Performs other duties as required to support plant reliability and safety. Qualifications
Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively; understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must physically be able to perform the duties required. Must have a high level of knowledge in system operations relative to electrical, steam, hot water and chilled water generation and systems. Must have a high level of skill using power tools, manual tools, machines and testing equipment used in Plant maintenance and construction. Must be able to produce and work from dimensioned drawings, P&IDs, electrical/control schematics, flow diagrams and technical specifications. Must have extensive experience in trouble-shooting and fault diagnosis of plant equipment and operations. Must display initiative and be able to exercise independent judgment and make prompt, accurate decisions. Must have a proven high level of proficiency in three or more primary skill areas to include plant operations, electrical systems, instrumentation, equipment repair and piping/mechanical disciplines. Must be able to work a rotating shift, overtime, or irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility. Must have current and complete vaccinations for Covid-19 and Flu. Must be willing to complete a Company sponsored training program for operating and maintaining plant equipment. License/Experience: A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Four or more years of experience in power plant operation or maintenance is desired. A valid OE-2 Operating Stationary Engineer License, an S or an E license issued by the State of Connecticut is required. Job Details
