The Role The Assistant Project Manager assists the project team in managing all aspects of construction projects, including development, coordination, and implementation of a program schedule to ensure programs are completed on time, within budget, and to or beyond the required quality.
Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor
Familiar with detailed fixed price estimates; ability to use RS Means or other published unit price books to produce detailed line item estimates
Possess effective negotiating skills
Resource Administration; to include operations support staff, vendors, subcontractors, and time management
Must demonstrate a strong ability to:
Adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment
Demonstrate integrity consistent with Centennial’s core values
Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear, concise, and professional presentation of information
Adapt to evolving technology, design, means and methods, systems such as Microsoft Office, Procore, Adobe, and BlueBeam
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is desired but not required
Responsibilities
Project Management: Assist with project budget; communicate effectively with all team members, including subcontractors and clients; participate in knowledge-sharing with senior team members; develop and review SOWs through site visits, existing conditions, and client needs; negotiate with clients and subcontractors; coordinate project close-out, obtain required documentation, assist in pre-final inspections and As-Built drawings
Estimating: Prepare estimates based on technical specifications, SOW, and drawings; assist with entering line items into Unit Price Book software using RS Means or other estimating tools
Subcontractor Management: Solicit proposals from vendors/subcontractors; review proposals for SOW compliance; assemble subcontractor quotes; gather safety information
Scheduling: Assist in development of project schedules with superintendents for use by customers and subcontractors
Safety: Ensure compliance with Centennial’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures and all local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.)
Site Travel: Travel between project sites as needed; occasional travel may be required

Work will be in an office environment with site visits; conditions may include varying weather
Physical demands include walking on varied terrain, sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, manual dexterity, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally
Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Travel and Location Occasional travel between project sites; some roles may require travel to multiple locations.
