Overview LABUR is partnering with a client on a critical initiative to upgrade a key software platform that underpins one of their core business units. This engagement requires an experienced and detail‑oriented Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end upgrade process, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to operations. The consultant will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering the upgrade on time, within scope, and within budget, while driving collaboration across technical teams and business stakeholders. This work is essential to modernizing the client’s technology foundation and enabling future scalability.
Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Coordinate internal resources and third‑party vendors for flawless execution.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams, business units, and leadership.
Facilitate regular status meetings and provide transparent updates to stakeholders.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Resolve issues promptly to minimize project disruption.
Quality Assurance
Ensure the upgraded platform meets functional, performance, and security requirements.
Oversee testing phases including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Change Management
Develop and execute communication and training plans to support user adoption.
Manage documentation and support transition to post‑upgrade operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
6-8+ years of experience in project management, preferably in software or IT environments.
Proven experience managing software upgrades or implementations.
Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to face off effectively with business teams and stakeholders, guide them through the project and hold them accountable.
Proactive with the ability to be tactical and hands on in driving project activities.
PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is a plus.
Compensation $75 - $100 per hour - Dependent on fit and experience.
