We are seeking an experienced and results-driven technical buyer to join our team. The technical buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing engineered products (and services), ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery specifications. This involves proactive communication, collaboration, negotiations, and problem solving.
Responsibilities
Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and evaluate suppliers for technical products, negotiate terms, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the best quality, pricing, and availability.
Supplier Performance: Track supplier performance and expenditure, resolve issues on quality or delivery, and maintain accurate procurement records.
Purchase Orders: Create requests for quotations (RFQ’s), evaluate proposals, and issue purchase orders in accordance with supply chain’s guidelines.
Market Research: Monitor market trends, new technologies, and changes in supplier capabilities to maintain a competitive edge.
Teamwork: Collaborate with engineering, operations, service, and sales to understand technical requirements and support business objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or related field.
Minimum five years of experience in procurement.
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of inventory management principles.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records.
Having experience in using Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a definite plus.
Proactive, strong analytical, and communication skills.
Proven track record of problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge and experience with databases.
Experience with VMI.
Developing and implementing buying policies and procedures.
Coordinating with other key stakeholders to resolve issues.
Attention to detail and accuracy are key skills for this position.
Ability to analyze large and complex data sets and generate meaningful insights.
Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs.
