Job Summary Under close supervision with detailed instruction and regular review, this position is responsible for performing manual and clerical duties involved in processing incoming materials through inspection, stockroom and production. Following established practices and procedures, performs a combination of tasks which may include loading and unloading, counting, weighing, and conveying materials, recording information and tracking, logging and verifying orders from numerous sources and departments. Assists with the coordination of outbound shipment of products. Fills orders and issues parts from stock. Requisitions stock and prepares stock use reports.

Responsibilities

Review inventory and work orders. Ensure traceability of material and/or parts.

Assist various departments to support department materials requirements.

Monitor and restock inventory levels housed on shop floor to ensure appropriate levels.

Update daily movement of parts providing information to appropriate personnel regarding back order of critical scheduled material.

Deliver materials as required for designated production areas.

Review material requisitions issued to the stockroom to ensure material is properly allocated.

Conduct physical inventory counts. Identify and report inventory shortages, overages or discrepancies on the shop floor.

Examine items received. Verify conformance to quality clauses and receiving procedures.

Transfer vendor shipping paperwork upon receipt of goods or after appropriate approval of parts. Ensure damages or excess goods are processed through quality assurance and/or materials supervisor.

Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Observe all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of experience in production/material control.

Basic understanding of material control concepts and standards.

Customer-focused with ability to identify deviations from normal processes, analyze issues, and interpret data.

Organizational skills to maintain workflow within the unit.

Ability to respond to routine issues or situations.

Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal employees and to accurately document and report information.

Knowledge of computer operations, applications, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment; willingness to work extended hours as required.

Job Type: Full-Time; Salary range: 38,230 - 56,838
