Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support our Water sector. This role provides technical direction and guidance to other engineers and designers, and ensures all work complies with company and industry standards. This position is responsible for the design and development of instrumentation and control systems, including developing control narratives, cause-and-effect documents, and P&IDs. The Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will create and review a wide range of I&C deliverables, such as instrument specifications, data sheets, loop diagrams, P&IDs, I/O lists, and material requisitions. Additionally, they will work with project management, clients, and cross-functional teams to align project goals and provide technical expertise.
Responsibilities
Manage the design and creation of new control systems by EPC Contractor
Coordinate with Contractor and LASAN to maintain operations of plants during field implementation of I&C System.
Consult with contractors, suppliers, clients and relevant authorities.
Assist in problem solving and troubleshooting, assess and interpret data.
Coordinate with Contractor, Plant Operations, and other Project Team Members for delivery of Work compliant to the Contract.
Review Implementation Plan to ensure that all work is performed in compliance with the quality standards as well as safety and health regulations.
Manage completion of project within time and cost constrained environment.
Review project specifications, time schedules, and costs.
Manage the Contractor’s Procurement Process and provide consultancy support and advice, review test procedures, provide technical assistance and written documentation and reports.
Support testing, assessing, calibrating, and review modification of instruments and equipment.
Perform relevant technical research pertinent to I&C Systems and Sanitation Operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program required
5-10 years of experience of design for facilities instrumentation and controls projects required
Strong knowledge of instrumentation engineering principles and control systems design
Proficiency in creating and reviewing I&C drawings, such as loop diagrams and P&IDs.
Experience with industry standards like those from ISA (International Society of Automation) and familiarity with standards like PSM (Process Safety Management)
Programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience with PLCs (e.g., Honeywell, Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and SCADA systems
Familiarity with the operation of basic industrial operational systems and industry equipment used to install, repair, and manage industry equipment
Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
Pay Range: $125,000 - $165,000 per year
Work Location: Hybrid 2-3 days per week in Los Angeles, CA
Travel: Up to 1 time per month to field sites in Los Angeles County
Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship
Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized background check
