We are seeking a
Geotechnical Engineer 1
to join our Miami, FL team! Come join us!
Job Responsibilities
Assist in performing geotechnical field investigations including soil borings, test pits, and sampling.
Review and interpret laboratory test results and prepare geotechnical logs and reports.
Assist senior engineers with data analysis, calculations, and report preparation.
Work closely with CMT department to coordinate and assist with field operations.
Assist in preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project documentation.
Supervise and provide technical support to field technicians performing testing and inspections.
Communicate with field staff, contractors, and clients to coordinate project activities.
Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with Atlas policies and procedures.
Adheres to all applicable internal requirements and external regulations when conducting geotechnical testing, evaluation, and reporting duties.
Minimum Requirements
BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
1-3 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering is preferred.
Engineer Intern (EI) License in State of Florida.
Ability to work in the field to supervise drilling operations, test pit excavations, and observe earthwork materials testing.
Strong problem solving and decision‑making skills.
Excellent organizational skills, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
Technical Requirements
Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with AutoCAD, gINT, or other geotechnical reporting software is a plus.
Basic understanding of soil classification, laboratory testing, and foundation design concepts.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Other Miscellaneous Qualities
Ability to travel to job sites throughout Florida (approx. 25% of the time).
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
