Position Summary The Production Learning Coordinator supports the Center for New Media by coordinating course‑based, real‑world media production opportunities for students. The role connects students with in‑house experiential learning projects that align with course and program outcomes and supports students who face barriers to internships. It also ensures accurate tracking of student production hours across courses and supports inclusive access to meaningful learning experiences.
Responsibilities
Coordinate student involvement in real‑world production projects.
Support the integration of experiential learning into curriculum.
Track and document student learning experiences.
Attend convocation and commencement ceremonies; serve on assigned committees and task forces; attend committee, staff, informational and professional meetings (including evening or weekend events).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately related field and up to three (3) years of experience in a related field; or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the competencies required.
Advanced knowledge and abilities in media production environments and workflows; strong organizational and documentation practices; and ability to support inclusive, student‑centered learning.
Proven ability to work effectively with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Strong information technology literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience involving local partners in media projects supporting community engagement.
Experience using systems and tools to track project progress (e.g., project management platforms, Excel spreadsheets, databases, etc.).
Experience supporting technical and creative aspects of production within studio and community spaces.
Salary & Benefits Minimum salary range: $54,141 – $57,765 approximate annual, plus State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. Benefits include generous leave policies, several retirement plans, comprehensive health insurance, and additional supplemental benefits. Tuition reimbursement may apply if applicable.
