Executive Chef – PS DFW The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence, consistency, and efficiency. This individual will serve as a key leader within the culinary team, upholding the company’s core values and fostering a culture of integrity, creativity, and collaboration.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Assume all responsibilities of the Corporate Chef when they are not present.
Communicate and manage the chef team and line staff.
Handle all staffing, equipment, and operational issues.
Create and implement policies and procedures and communicate them to the team.
Set agendas, timelines, and coordinate team projects.
Oversee staff scheduling to ensure optimal coverage aligned with operational needs and service standards.
Spearhead R&D, menu changes, and weekly special creation.
Monitor team performance and conduct performance review conversations to ensure accountability and alignment with PS standards.
Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the Corporate Chef.
Collaborate cross‑departmentally with operations to support seamless guest experiences and team communication.
Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruitment, selection, and onboarding of culinary team members.
Manage par sheets and other kitchen documents.
Maintain vendor relationships and manage maintenance communications.
Delegate prep items to all cooks and assist the prep schedule as needed.
Expedite the flow of food out of the kitchen when present.
Order inventory throughout the week and manage EOM inventory counts.
Collaborate with the team on specials, seasonal items, etc.
Conduct daily line checks and staff meetings to align the team on tasks, goals, and focus areas.
Requirements
5‑7 years of progressive experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a fine‑dining setting.
Degree or diploma from an accredited culinary school or hospitality program, or equivalent experience; high school diploma/GED required.
Proven track record of exceptional cooking skills combined with strong kitchen leadership and management experience.
Deep passion for cooking, with creativity, care, and craftsmanship evident in every dish.
Experience managing high‑volume kitchen operations, preferably in fine dining or concept‑driven restaurants.
Consistently punctual, dependable, and respectful of company policies, setting a strong example for the team.
Alignment with and embodiment of PS core values, serving as an ambassador of company culture.
Ability to energize, motivate, and lead kitchen staff effectively to achieve high operational performance and team cohesion.
Willingness and ability to step in and support the team during staff shortages or unexpected challenges.
Fully open schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and early morning/late evening shifts, as PS is a 24‑hour facility.
Pass a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
Collection of SSN as part of the background check process will be required.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
