How you can make a bigger difference: The Agency Operated Boarding Homes (AOBH) program consists of 4 homes located in the Bronx. Each home provides a home-like setting for 6 youth either ages 14-17 years old or ages 17-21 years old. Two of the homes serve male residents and the other two serve youth who identify as LGBTQAI+. All youth are referred to us through ACS. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral and emotional issues. The AOBH offers a small home-like setting, physical and emotional support, family connections and visitation, educational, social and clinical support and opportunities, age-appropriate recreational activities, and aftercare planning for youth and young adults.
The Team Leader is a vital part of the Milieu Team. The Team Leader at the AOBH program supervises the Direct Support Professional in 2 small home-like settings. The Team Leader is the functional supervisor of the program and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Facilitate weekly treatment team meetings, administrator meetings, staff meetings, and individual supervision of the Direct Support Professional staff.
Coordinate and oversee all independent living skills for the clients.
Function as the primary liaison for the program between the client and the school system, clients’ teacher and principal.
Complete weekly Direct Support Professional staff schedule two weeks in advance to ensure adequate unit coverage.
Oversee day-to-day implementation of the clients’ treatment/service plans.
Act as an integral part of the interviewing process and have strong input into final hiring recommendations.
