The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works - Transportation Division is recruiting for a detail-oriented and motivated
Public Works Analyst II
to support the administration of regional and local transportation planning and development mitigation programs. This position plays a key role in assessing the impact of new development on the County’s maintained road system and helps secure regional, state, and federal funding to improve transportation infrastructure. The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works (DPW) is dedicated to delivering safe, sustainable, and innovative infrastructure that enhances daily life for our residents and supports the region’s growth. Within DPW, the Transportation Division manages nearly 2,500 miles of County-maintained roads and leads long-range planning to keep our communities connected and moving forward. As part of this team, Public Works Analysts collaborate with engineers, planners, and regional partners to secure funding, plan projects, and implement solutions that reduce congestion, improve safety, and prepare San Bernardino County for the future—making this an excellent opportunity for professionals who want to make a direct and lasting impact while advancing their career. Responsibilities
Analyze financial impacts on infrastructure and recommend fees and other program funding measures. Plan and monitor projects funded through various revenue streams including maintaining project priority lists and capital improvement project lists. Prepare cost estimates and write competitive grant applications for various projects. Track project funding, schedules, and reimbursements, and prepare a variety of reports for management and outside agencies. Represent the County at meetings with various local, State, and Federal agencies. Analyze and report on related legislation, policies, and funding opportunities. Provide technical and analytical support for various studies and funding program updates. Official Title

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, and a physical exam prior to appointment. Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained. Experience:
Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience of professional level planning, project programming, grant writing, funding administration and/or legislative analysis experience. Education:
