Lead Medical Coordinator ORR

Responsibilities
Serve as the point of contact with the Division of Health for Unaccompanied Children (DHUC) Medical Team.
Provide nursing care to children, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and educating on health concerns.
Assess, document, and manage pediatric patients' health conditions and treatment plans; maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Support and enforce infection-control policies; develop care plans for the medical isolation population following regulatory standards.
Coordinate medical appointments and follow through on medications and treatment as prescribed.
Coordinate and oversee prescribed nutritional needs and diet and fluid intake for unaccompanied children as prescribed.
Track all UC Portal medical data and UC medical files; ensure proper immunization schedules are used in accordance with ORR, DHHS, and TVFC policies; ensure timely reporting of medical incidents (e.g., SIRs).
Track and ensure specialized services such as dental treatment, psychological, psychiatric, family planning, and emergency care are provided; identify other specialized health services as needed.
Serve as liaison with medical service providers in the community.
Coach and support staff to ensure they have tools and resources to optimize performance, meet program goals, and achieve operational excellence.
Communicate with direct program administration to report medical incidents.
Organize and deliver regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate updates on information, projects, and initiatives.
Work with leadership and the People and Culture Team to arrange training; coordinate and/or provide in-service training; assist with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees who are strong cultural fits for Upbring.
Regularly review employee performance, provide developmental feedback, support growth and development, and facilitate 90-day and annual evaluations with supporting documentation per procedures.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor's degree; OR higher health-related qualification (e.g., Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner).
One (1) year of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care.
Previous supervisory experience.
Bilingual English and Spanish (speak, read, and write).
Valid TX driver's license with auto insurance.
Must be 21 years of age or older per licensing requirements.
Ability to build rapport with the children and maintain professionalism.
Strong documentation, organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and UC information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of nursing experience.
Travel
This position may require travel as needed based on program requirements.

This position requires sitting, looking at a computer for long periods, and assisting with responding to emergency situations.
Position works in a child facility with constant exposure to children.
Position requires frequent standing, walking, and time in dormitory areas where children reside.
