TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Fiber Technicians for our client in Texas.

Per Diem:

$150/day + Travel costs to Texas are covered.

Shift:

7 am - 7 pm or 7 pm - 7 am (3 weeks on / 1 week off or 6 days on / 2 days off).

Skills Required

Previous Data Center experience is preferred.

Must have 1-5+ years of experience splicing ribbon fiber.

Job Description Level II

Performs mid‑level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects.

Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrixes to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.

Ability to determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility.

Independently and safely performs mid‑sheath cable entry using proper tools.

Performs mid‑level single and/or ribbon splices with the understanding large cable count numbering.

Ability to read/process test results and problem solve basic issues identified during troubleshooting.

Proficient in mid‑level OTDR and power meter testing.

Ability to install and/or research installation procedures for all splice enclosures.

Performs basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization.

Effectively communicates with internal (training peers) and external stakeholders (customers, subcontractors, etc.), addressing issues as they arise and offering customer‑centric solutions.

Responds timely to critical situations and emergency outages with an appropriate level of urgency.

Maintains full understanding of safety risks while working in a safety‑sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards.

Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

Level III

Performs complex splicing projects for both new and existing customers with little to no direction.

Independently troubleshoots customer networks and reads/processes test results to provide customer deliverables.

Creates Smart Sheets and Excel trackers to accurately track project schedules and progress.

Independently reads/interprets prints and creates work assignments for other Technicians.

Accurately collects all pertinent information from pre‑job inspections and customer field meetings.

Supports operational leadership with the management of on‑site project elements such as time, materials, documentation, production updates, tool, and equipment.

Professionally interacts with and communicates with external vendors, customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership to ensure accurate information is disseminated to all parties.

Proactively identifies and escalates project and personnel issues to operational leadership where appropriate.

Creates training plans and conducts training for other Technicians and serves as a leader in the field driving quality, efficiency, production, and safety.

Serves as an ADB Culture Champion leading, driving, and participating in ADB culture pillar events.

Utilizes expert‑level splicing skills to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across ADB’s Splicing group.

Possesses advanced understanding of all safety risks while working in a safety‑sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards.

Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $40.00 /hour.
