Duties As a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER, WG-6912-07, you will perform the full range of examining and identifying duties for complex categories of materiel and equipment.
Key duties include:
Receiving, inspecting, and processing equipment and materials, ensuring proper identification, classification, and storage.
Conducting tests such as radioactive surveys, wipe tests, and other required inspections.
Maintaining and ensuring compliance with packaging, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
Managing inventory, including packing, preserving, and preserving properties, especially for hazardous or specialized items.
Supporting mission through training, readiness, force protection, and national guard operations, including natural disaster and homeland defense support.
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisory authority.
Conditions of Employment
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Probationary period of 1 or 2 years may be required; employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agency’s interest.
Qualifications Military Grades : Enlisted (E3-E7)
Minimum Requirements : Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to distinguish between closely related or similar items, follow procedures, sort materials by type, and use hand tools.
Specialized Experience : Must have 12 months of experience or training identifying and sorting a variety of complex materials and equipment. Experience in receiving materials, recording, placing items in proper storage, preparing items for shipment, using Federal Supply Catalogs and agency manuals, mathematical equations, forklift and motor vehicle operation.
Education You must provide transcripts to support your educational claims. To receive credit for education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the education requirements for this position.
