Apply for the Correctional Officer 1 (CO2) role with the State of Washington at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) and the Olympic Corrections Center (OCC).
Overview This position is a full‑time and on‑call opportunity at two male facilities in Washington state. The role requires completion of the DOC Academy and Field Training Program, and may involve average 32‑40 hour weeks for on‑call staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain safety and security of the institution, controlling movement of inmates in and out of the facility.
Assist in supervising and mentoring inmates, promoting positive behavior and successful reintegration.
Respond to emergencies, incidents, and maintain order during all hours.
Perform administrative duties such as documentation, reports, and round‑ups.
Participate in the DOC CORE (Academy) and Field Training Program; advance to CO2 after satisfactory completion of CO1 training.
Perform physical exertion and duties that may include use of pepper spray, restraints, and travel to off‑site activities.
Assist with daily operations of the Intensive Management Unit (CBCC) or work crews in OCC.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Legal right to carry a firearm.
One year of experience as a DOC Correctional Officer or equivalent adult/juvenile corrections experience, or successful completion of the CORE and Field Training Program.
Previous on‑call experience preferred.
Completion of background check, drug test, and psychological evaluation.
Salary and Benefits
Full‑time: $6,046 – $6,512 per month (TEAMSTERS Step J‑M). On‑call hourly: $34.75 – $37.43.
