Associates Degree (or equivalent) in Radiologic Technology from an AMA approved school. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
Massachusetts State licenses in Radiography and Mammography are required. Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in (R) and (M). Certification in Breast Ultrasound either through the ARDMS or ARRT. Credentials are ARRT (BS) or RDMS (BR) and required within one year of hire. Experience
At least 1 year of experience as a registered mammographer and at least 6 months of breast sonography required. Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of principles and procedures in both mammography and ultrasound and the operation and maintenance of Radiologic/Mammography and Ultrasound equipment. Knowledge of bone density equipment and ability to analyze studies. Extensive knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and co-workers, to train students and staff mammographers. Excellent organizational skills.
