Position Overview The Business Development Representative (BDR) works to improve Pan-Oston’s market position and achieve financial growth. The BDR defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates, and closes business deals while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
The BDR works in a senior sales position within the company either in a remote capacity or in the corporate office. It is their job to work with the internal team, marketing staff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for our organization.
Responsibilities
Strategic planning and pipeline development
Research industry trends and identify new opportunities
Prospect for potential new clients via networking and outbound methods
Develop rapport with new clients and set sales targets
Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions
Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs
Participate in pricing solutions and handle objections
Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately
Attend industry functions and provide feedback on market trends
Present to mid and senior level management on business trends
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels
Use market and competitor knowledge to develop unique selling propositions
Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong public speaking, interpersonal and presentation skills
Prospecting and closing skills
Experienced with sales planning and selling to customer’s needs
Strong organizational and creative thinking skills
Goal oriented, results driven
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products
Familiarity with and efficient utilization of CRM tools (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
Physical Demands / Travel Travel up to 25-40% of the time.
Education / Work Experience Business development management positions require a bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years of sales or marketing experience.
