Staff Data Center Engineer, Mechanical Automation, Manufacturing Preferred work locations:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.

5 years of experience in mechanical process engineering and manufacturing automation.

5 years of experience designing and implementing automation solutions in an industrial environment.

5 years of experience with CAD software, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming.

Experience in mechanical infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field, or a professional engineering license.

Experience in estimation, mechanical design, operation, and commissioning of mission critical data center mechanical equipment.

Experience in lean manufacturing principles and product quality management systems.

Experience in the data center industry or manufacturing environments.

Knowledge of robotics, control systems, industrial automation, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP).

Our lab mirrors a research and development department – cutting‑edge strategies are born, tested, and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you take on complex topics such as how we use power or how to run state‑of‑the‑art, environmentally‑friendly facilities. You are a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements – even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior‑level executives, and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

Compensation:

US base salary range: $171,000–$254,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is determined by role, level, and location, as well as work location and additional factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Salary details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only; they do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for mechanical components, ensuring efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and quality.

Conduct data analysis on manufacturing performance to identify trends, root causes of defects, and lead process improvement projects.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., electrical engineers, software developers) to ensure integration of mechanical and automation solutions.

Perform business case evaluations for new manufacturing technologies and equipment investments, presenting recommendations.
