Job Description Position Title:

Supervisor, Trade Compliance

Pay Group:

Reports To:

Risa Cerrito – Manager, Trade Compliance - Americas

Direct Report:

Trade Compliance Analysts (2), Customs Compliance Clerks (2)

Position Summary The Trade Compliance Supervisor is primarily responsible for import and export compliance programs for Bendix US and Canada but may support Bendix MX locations when needed.

Essential Functions

Supervise Trade Compliance Team and develop personnel.

Oversee US and Canadian Imports/Exports and ensure shipments are processed accurately, timely and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Oversee USMCA and other FTA processes including supplier solicitations, eligibility determinations and customer responses.

Continuously improve import and export processes.

Support C-TPAT audits.

Support Trade Compliance related organizational training.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

US Customs Broker’s license preferred.

Experience

10+ years of experience in Global Trade Compliance.

Supervisory experience required.

Required Skills

Experience with US Customs regulations (Title 19 CFR), Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), HTS classification, Country of Origin determination, ACE, and Reconciliation.

Experience with USMCA, US and MX Free Trade Agreements (including Buy America), C-TPAT, EAR, ECCN determination and export controls.

SAP and/or GTS (Global Trade Service) systems experience preferred.

Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint.

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to analyze data and conduct root cause analysis to recommend corrective actions or improvements.

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; develop individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others' efforts.

Able to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.

Ability to write reports, work instructions, process flows, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and customers.

The position involves communicating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and a 3PL.

International Logistics / Transportation knowledge is a plus.
