Sanitation Technician - Days
Pay $19.45 per hour. Working hours: 6:00 am – 7:00 pm.

Job Summary The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing process equipment to establish a clean environment for producing and packaging quality products. Responsibilities include ensuring equipment and facility are effectively sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and government sanitation requirements.
Essential Job Duties
Performs plant cleaning as prescribed by the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintains general housekeeping in all plant areas.
Utilizes powered cleaning equipment including powered lifts, scissors lifts, power washers, foam applicators, steamers, automatic compactors, motors, and various non‑mechanized equipment.
Operates equipment such as floor jacks, trash compactors, vacuum cleaners, and floor scrubbers safely and knowledgeably.
Follows safe lifting and carrying instructions for varied objects, reporting defective equipment and all job‑related injuries to management.
Disassembles and reassembles machines, pumps, bucket elevators, slurry equipment, filters, and other processing equipment.
Works independently at high efficiency levels with no direct supervision.
Learns and performs proper Allergen Elimination Procedure.
Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines and GMP procedures.
Maintains and uses personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA, plant GMPs, or supervisor instructions.
Participates in safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives.
Reads Safety Data Sheets and prepares chemical cleaning agents per manufacturer recommendations.
Assists departments with spill containment and communicates pest activity to pest control technicians.
Removes product debris to trash.
Is trained in Lock‑out/Tag‑out and blood‑borne pathogens (BBP).
Supports and participates in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S.
Collects recyclables and loads them into proper trailers.
Mixes and handles chemical concentrates, and may input chemical concentrate data into Excel.
May create or update standard operating procedures.
May perform other duties as required.
Mandatory overtime may be required.
Knowledge and Skills
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Average mathematical skills.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry‑standard cleaning procedures.
Knowledge of HACCP, allergens, and pest control.
Attention to detail and urgency in matters of food safety.
Basic knowledge of sanitation equipment operation.
SQF certification is a plus.
Understanding of the basic functions of all production equipment, including mixers, wire cuts, wrappers, and conveyors, required for sanitation procedures.
Ability to gain knowledge of proper sanitary design for equipment (preferred).
Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED and/or 1‑year production experience in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment The work environment is quiet in office areas but loud and requires hearing protection in the plant. Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions; occasional exposure to high places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat or cold.
Travel Minimal travel may be required.
Compensation and Benefits Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training.
