Responsibilities
Identify and plan all details to successfully execute events using Catering Department event sheets; this includes personnel scheduling, room set‑up, and equipment planning.
Provide leadership to banquet staff, schedule, train, evaluate, and counsel staff with direction from the Catering Director.
Ensure that all Banquet department employee standards and service standards are met and implemented.
Read banquet event sheets to determine which rooms are to be set during the shift and what table/equipment configurations to use. Review the equipment needed and the meeting schedule and breaks.
Prepare banquet rooms for scheduled functions. Assist in setting tables and chairs, as well as all necessary equipment (podiums, staging, audio/visual equipment, etc.), linens, and service ware.
Ensure that banquet rooms are properly set, clean, and ready for use; vacuum, dust, spot‑clean walls, clean white boards, replace light bulbs as necessary, and adjust lighting and thermostat as needed.
Meet with banquet staff immediately prior to major events to communicate pertinent information regarding the event.
