Title: Chehalis Habitat Section Support Analyst
Classification: Management Analyst 3 (MA3)
Job Status: Full Time / Project
Appointment Length: Two (2) years
WDFW Program: Habitat Program – Administrative Operations Division
Duty Station: Olympia, Washington – Thurston County
Hybrid/Telework: Up to two days of telework may be available at the discretion of the supervisor
Overview This position plays a key role in supporting the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's mission within the Habitat Program's Administrative Operations Division. Reporting to the Strategic Operations Section Manager, you will help balance priorities and coordinate vital technical projects for the Energy, Water, and Major Projects (EWMP) Division.
Role and Responsibilities
Provide operational support for the Chehalis Section, including acting as an effective communications link and reliable source of information to foster collaboration and clear communications.
Develop and maintain the Section's project schedule, collecting project information, managing the scheduling database, and reporting to Division and Section managers for adjustments or corrections.
Collect, compile, and analyze information and data for internal and external reporting.
Assist with budget development and updates.
Track contract spending and communicate changes in the work schedule that impact contract spending to Division leadership, Habitat Budget Staff, and Administrative Operations Manager.
Serve as the point of contact for contract coordination within the Habitat Program for EWMP Chehalis Section, coordinating with relevant agency staff on Chehalis and ASRP contracts.
Assist in the development and preparation of monthly and/or quarterly reports for activities associated with contracts through the collection and analysis of project information.
Research platform options and make recommendations to Habitat EWMP Division Leadership, Supervisor, and Administrative Operations Manager.
Oversee the development and implementation of databases, create training materials, and provide training to staff.
Manage and update the database as needed, and coordinate with other Habitat Program Divisions on material delivery.
Maintain schedule and workload in accordance with a standard full‑time 40‑hour work week, including occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
Travel: Limited.
Customer Interaction: Frequent interactions with Habitat Program staff.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project or program management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear reports and present information to varied audiences.
Proficiency with database and scheduling software; experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
Valid Washington State driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as required.
Knowledge of fish, wildlife, or natural resource management preferred but not required.
