Overview
The Field Service Project Manager oversees electrical service projects from start to finish, ensuring the successful execution of tasks involving testing, troubleshooting, and data collection for low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems. You will be responsible for pre-planning and job quoting, assigning work to crew members, interfacing with customers, and monitoring project budgets. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance both technical tasks and project management duties while ensuring top-quality service and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
Manage electrical services projects involved with inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, performing start-up and data collection for low, medium, and high voltage (to 500kV) electrical systems, and moderately complex relay calibration and power metering. Participate in pre-planning, site walk-throughs, and collaborate with the sales department on estimating and quoting jobs. Identify and assign individual job tasks to crew members. Interface with customers throughout jobs and attend meetings to provide updates, progress status, and issue resolution. Identify opportunities for expanded job scope and discuss with the customer and Account Manager. Communicate with the assigned Account Manager on any additional billing. Monitor job budget by reviewing technician time and material costs. Conduct a final job walk with the customer before energizing; discuss scope and ensure a successful start-up. Complete, compile, review for accuracy, and provide reports to the Production Manager. On some jobs, may serve as a Technician performing various electrical testing and maintenance services. Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree (Electrical Power or similar) from a technical college or relevant military training is preferred. Experience project managing electrical maintenance shutdowns/turnarounds or switchgear commissioning. Experience with Doble software, automated CT sets, Power DB, RTS/Protest relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, ATS, VFDs, and performing start-up on switchgear up to 500kV class is preferred. NETA Certification is a plus, but not required. General PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office; PowerDB experience a plus. OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training a plus. Ability to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures. Must have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license. Benefits
