Overview
Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling. This is a remote work position with residency within 2 hours of a major metropolitan airport in the region required. Up to 75% travel may be required. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing new business and opportunities in assigned market segments and/or geographical territories, focused on R&D and industrial business unit customers. This role aims to deliver annual sales growth of Busch products and services in the valves, chambers, and hardware segment for this group of customers. Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of the vacuum industry and at least 5 years of experience in related business development, product management, or sales. Location: Remote with travel; residency near a major airport. Responsibilities
Conduct market analysis to identify customer segments, market needs, roadblocks, competition, pricing, and global position. Develop a strategic plan and initiatives to grow sales in the market. Work with Sales to identify and qualify targeted prospects within the target segment that align with Busch's business philosophy. Develop mutually beneficial partnerships providing value-based solutions addressing customer needs. Collaborate with target accounts to understand required capabilities and identify gaps between current and desired states. Manage a gap analysis process with documentation and financials (cost, benefit, risk, timing). Coordinate with Project Management to lead cross-functional teams to close gaps. Develop Marketing & Sales Strategy for the targeted market, including sales tools, product documentation, pricing, and promotions. Support the launch of the strategy with training and technical/market guidance during the launch stage. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in business development or related vacuum equipment sales in valves, chambers, and/or hardware. Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP and CRM experience preferred. Valid driver’s license throughout employment. Bachelor’s Degree required, Engineering or related field preferred. Personal Qualifications
Relevant market experience in the fine vacuum field. Strong understanding of customers, products, competition, and key players. Analytical and financial justification skills; ability to influence and execute a plan. Customer-oriented, organized, and detail-oriented; high ethical standards and integrity. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Job Requirements
Must travel up to 75% of the time. Must reside within 2 hours of a major airport. Ability and willingness to pass a 9-panel drug screen and 7-year criminal history check; felonies are generally disqualifying, misdemeanors evaluated case-by-case. Use required PPE as needed and maintain a current valid driver’s license. Physical Requirements
Constant speaking; ability to stand, walk, sit; lift/carry/push/pull up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs occasionally. Ability to hear and respond to alarms; use PPE (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection) as required. Benefits & Opportunities
