Senior Transportation Surveyor (Caltrans) Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Surveyor, the incumbent is responsible for a wide variety of surveying functions in support of project delivery, public requests and records retention, data management, and technology implementation. A valid driver’s license is required when operating state vehicles. This position may require field work in San Bernardino and Riverside County and travel may be required.

Pay: $11,437.00/yr - $14,315.00/yr.

Special Requirements

Possession of a valid California Land Surveyors' License. (A Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors prior to January 1, 1982 satisfies this requirement.)

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.

Working Conditions Position located at 464 W 4th Street, San Bernardino CA 92401. This is primarily an office position; however, field visits for crew assistance or project evaluation may be necessary and the incumbent must be available to work indoors or outdoors at any time. The employee will work in a climate‑controlled office under artificial lighting. Outdoor activity includes exposure to moving traffic, loud noise, weather conditions of extreme heat and/or cold, dust, working on uneven terrain, adjacent to heavy equipment, and possible contact with hazardous materials, pesticides, and chemicals. Protective clothing is required. This position may be eligible for telework. Business travel may be required. Commute to the headquartered location as needed; all commute expenses will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
