Position Summary The Sr Quality Control Inspector will require strong expertise in mechanical parts inspection. This role requires proficiency in various inspection methods, familiarity with FDA and ISO 13485 requirements, and the ability to collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure compliance and product integrity.

Essential Functions

Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished assemblies.

Maintain calibrated equipment in the Quality Control Lab and assist the head of Quality Control in performing internal calibrations.

Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, final inspections, and RMA inspections.

Generate part‑specific inspection forms.

Support inspection‑related activities related to R&D projects and new products.

Document and maintain detailed inspection reports, records, and quality documentation.

Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, specifications, and inspection procedures to ensure compliance with requirements.

Document and process non‑conforming issues found during inspection and support investigations.

Support internal and external audits by providing inspection records.

Collaborate with Mevion suppliers for technical information.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection efficiency, accuracy, and overall product quality.

Move and position parts greater than 20 lbs with the use of hoists and/or lifts.

Education, Training, and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or higher is a plus.

ASQ certification (CQT, CQI, or equivalent) is a strong plus.

At least seven years of experience in quality control; medical device inspection experience is a plus.

Strong background in mechanical inspection, calibration, and metrology.

Strong knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drawings.

Proficient with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread gauges, etc.

Familiar with ERP/MRP systems and electronic quality management systems (eQMS).

Basic knowledge of IPC standards for inspections.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Good documentation skills and ability to organize work tasks.

Experience using MS Office tools like Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.

Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with internal customers and suppliers.

Physical and Environmental Considerations

Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.

Required use of standard office equipment, including laptop, phone, copier, etc.

Typical office environment.

Must be able to walk through the factory environment safely.

Employee will work in high magnetic fields, high voltages, and with radiation and radioactive materials. May be involved in light rigging operations.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
