About the Role
As a Cushing Terrell team member, you will create built environments that push the boundaries of cutting‑edge design and contribute to thriving communities. You will join a multidisciplinary team of talented engineers, architects, designers, planners, and business professionals working across 17 office locations and remotely throughout the United States. Qualifications
BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited school
10+ years of related experience
Licensed Professional Engineer or Licensed Structural Engineer (or ability to obtain licensure by comity) in the state of the hiring Cushing Terrell office
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Advanced understanding of basic structural systems and the design process
Experience with concrete, tilt‑up/tip‑up, timber, wood, and steel design processes
High level of collaboration and communication
Ability to effectively manage time

Responsibilities
Oversee/Manage all structural engineering aspects of projects
Work independently and oversee other team members to develop construction documents (plans & specifications)
Perform structural engineering analysis and development of design calculations
Prepare engineering studies and reports
Prepare construction cost estimates and compare with industry benchmarks
Manage structural project requirements (scope, budget, time)
Develop structural fee proposals and contracts
Develop and maintain client relationships
Mentor and direct junior engineers and BIM staff
Work with and manage teams to deliver structural projects to both external clients and internal architectural teams
Work on a variety of projects, including substations, climbing walls, ziplines, and ropes courses
The majority of the time, a person in this role will be in an office with limited physical requirements. Occasional site verifications and field surveys may be required.
Compensation
Expected salary range: $90,000 to $130,000
Position eligible for an annual performance bonus
Actual salary offered will be determined based on years of experience, licensure status, location, level of job‑related knowledge, and other factors (as permitted by law)
