Related Midwest, the Chicago office of Related Companies, is the preeminent developer of mixed‑use properties, affordable housing communities, and luxury condominium and rental homes across Chicago. The firm commands a portfolio of residential, mixed‑use and master‑planned properties, including pioneering projects like The 78 and other large‑scale developments.

Compensation The hourly range for this position is $25‑$30 /hr.

Responsibilities

Provide insight and input on construction schedule, cost, and complexity.

Collaborate with the project’s in‑house design, financial and development management teams to manage costs, explore building system alternatives, coordinate zoning and permits, and oversee the construction bid and contract process.

Review and summarize documents including partnership agreements, audits, and term sheets.

Compile market research to draw comparisons between different properties.

Participate in weekly meetings on current projects.

Assist in creation, execution and monitoring of project work plans and revise as required to meet changing needs and requirements.

Participate in creating overall project schedule and oversee timely execution.

Assist with management of day‑to‑day operational aspects of the project.

Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Qualifications

Current undergraduate sophomore with a target graduation date between December 2026‑Spring 2028.

Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related fields.

Strong passion for real‑estate development.

Exhibits a strong understanding of technical skills and job‑specific knowledge.

Demonstrates clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Self‑starter, proactive approach to tasks and challenges.

Detail‑oriented.

Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment.

Resume must include expected graduation month/year.
