The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a skilled and motivated People Data Analyst to provide professional expertise in HR research, data analysis, and process improvement. In this role, you’ll analyze HR data, prepare reports and dashboards, and support the development of policies and procedures that strengthen workforce management across the agency. You’ll collaborate with leadership to enhance operations, improve efficiency, and drive results through meaningful HR insights. Job Duties

Gathers, analyzes, and prepares reports on HR metrics for agency management

Extracts and formats data from the Human Resources Information Solution (AZ360)

Creates and maintains databases, spreadsheets, dashboards, and forms using various computer/web applications

Combines volumes of data from various sources to ensure accuracy

Collaborates with internal and external resources and other agency units to accomplish assignments

Participates in various individual and team projects

Creates project plans and expectations, and monitors and evaluates activities

Contributes to the unit’s strategy-based goals, objectives and results, and participates in HRDG LEAN (AMS) management process improvement initiatives

Evaluates and recommends changes to enhance workflow, customer service, timeliness, etc.

Documents, develops, and evaluates standard work

Assists in developing and implementing employee surveys

Generates reports and conducts data analysis based on responses

Assists in implementing and administering the PI suite

Provides technical guidance and support to the HR Analytics Manager to include preparing various reports and assisting in the development of dashboards

Serves as a back‑up to the Human Resources Analytics Unit

Drives on State business

Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Research and data analysis methods and techniques, HRIS Report Writer, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, with an emphasis on spreadsheets expertise

Project management and continuous process improvement methodologies

Records and document management principles

Principles and practices of human resources management and administration

State and Federal Laws, ADOA Personnel Rules, ADOA Classification and Compensation Guidelines

Selective Preferences

Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Human Resources, or a related field; or two (2) years of relevant experience

Relevant HR Certification

Requires expertise using complex spreadsheets and databases for analysis and reporting, and experience in project management, process improvement initiatives, and report writing

Pre‑Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Driver’s license requirements for state business, including current valid license, required training, and record checks.

Annual Tuberculosis (TB) test during new employee orientation and annually thereafter.

Successful completion of the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify).

Retirement Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
