The Senior Classified Systems Administrator supports day‑to‑day user activities, performs system maintenance, and maintains the design, development, documentation, and deployment of IT solutions. Duties include data administration, knowledge management, customer service, technical support, network services, system administration, and systems security analysis. The role installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains server configurations (hardware and software) to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and manages accounts, firewalls, patches, and access controls. This position is located on‑site in Cambridge, MA and requires an active Secret Clearance. Duties / Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, operate, and manage networks and firewalls, ensuring secure transmission of all information. Maintain and update documentation, including SOPs, network drawings, and configuration files. Develop project plans, architecture diagrams, requirement and test documentation, and change requests. Conduct reviews and technical inspections to mitigate potential security weaknesses and ensure compliance. Provide resolution for moderately complex customer issues, escalating beyond Tier II as needed. Perform software patching, system deployment, license management, and lifecycle management. Co‑operate with the Information Assurance group to maintain system accreditation, SOPs, and configuration documentation. Coordinate with senior IT leadership to manage risks impacting IT services. Develop and validate systems specifications and requirements. Mentor team members and lead IT projects implementing new technology solutions. Perform additional duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of systems or networking administration. Experience with LDAP, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Veeam, Nessus, or Splunk. Proficiency in security technologies (encryption, firewall configuration, intrusion detection). Hands‑on experience with Windows OS (Windows 10, Windows Server 2016/2019). Excellent time‑management, prioritization, and multitasking skills. Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Understanding of JAFAN 6/9, NISPOM, JSIG, CNSSI 1253, NIST, RMF, and ICD 503. Education
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related field (required). Master’s Degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred). Security+ and/or CISSP certification (preferred). Experience
7‑10 years of systems or networking administration experience. Additional Job Description
