The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Wiring Installation Engineer (Experienced and Senior) located in Oklahoma City, OK. This Wire Design position will support the Mobility & Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) Division primarily in support of the USAF E7, based in Oklahoma, but there are opportunities to support other MS&B programs.
As a member of the Wiring Integrated Product Team (IPT) you will work in a highly dynamic team environment, integrating the full production value stream—from Engineering to Shop Floor—to successfully execute both post‑production modification and standard production to the aircraft.
Wiring is the integration point between the physical aircraft structure and the mission systems capability. The wiring team interfaces and integrates with almost every design IPT, providing a great opportunity to experience and learn about the entire aircraft and its systems. This role involves developing, integrating, and maintaining critical electrical cable/wire harness detail, assembly, and installation designs. You will integrate functional system requirements into an efficient logical and physical wire harness architecture throughout the airplane, focusing on implementing wire bundle specifications that align with systems performance and design requirements.
Position Responsibilities
Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs
Develops basic/complex statements of work, metrics, schedules, and budgets
Analyzes results and supports design reviews
Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)
Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
Supports the development of statements of work
Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design
Must possess good organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills
Must be 100% onsite at the listed location.
Security Clearance:
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
5+ years of experience in aerospace systems or wiring.
Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in electronic and/or electrical engineering.
3+ years of experience in CATIA V5/ENOVIA/PDM.
Experience designing or supporting electrical wire harness installations.
Understanding of wire separation requirements and other EME considerations.
Basic ECAT experience.
Relocation:
Offered based on candidate eligibility.
Shift:
1st shift (occasionally alternative shifts as needed).
Salary range for Experienced: $90,950 – $123,050. Salary range for Senior: $111,350 – $150,650.
