Role Description The Solution Engineer supports customers throughout the entire journey – from new product introductions and roadmap planning to designing and defining solutions during the scoping and contracting phases. Working closely with Sales, they translate customer needs into viable technical architectures and help shape the delivery approach. This role also acts as the voice of the customer, championing their needs to ensure we build the right features.
Supports solution design and scoping for strategic deals
Provides technical input into proposals and SOWs
Validates feasibility of requested features and configurations
Participates in early customer conversations to shape expectations
Creates customer‑specific roadmaps including certification roadmaps
Responsibilities/Accountabilities This role operates during the early definition of customer projects, ensuring solution design is sound, deliverable, priced accurately and clearly documented.
Works with KAMS, GTO, and Managed Services Specialists to architect technical solutions
Leads technical whiteboarding and scoping sessions with customers to gather and assess requirements
Drafts or contributes to solution overviews, integration diagrams, and delivery assumptions
Validates feasibility and compatibility with Ingenico platforms and services
Provides input to SOWs, particularly around architecture, integration scope, and technical dependencies
Escalates risks or gaps in requirements prior to contract signature
Supports internal handover to delivery teams with clear documentation and context
Supports GTM launch team in identifying early adopters
Solution designs and architecture overviews
Contribution to accurate, feasible SOWs
% of scoped solutions delivered without major redesign
Risk identification and resolution prior to contracting
VOC/Market Requirement Documents for new product introductions
% Budget achievement (For Solution Engineers assigned to specific accounts)
Skills Required/Preferred
Strong understanding of payment solutions architecture (HW, SW, API integrations)
Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications
Excellent collaboration and communication across commercial and technical teams
Experience with pre‑sales engineering, scoping, or technical consulting
Organized, customer‑oriented, and detail‑driven
