Job Overview Northrop Grumman seeks a

Staff Electronics Engineer – Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead

(Job ID: R10213078) in Rancho Bernardo, CA, within the Avionics Integration Organization. This position serves as the primary interface with suppliers for communication and payload systems.

Relocation assistance may be available. The role requires a DoD Secret clearance and up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

Coordinating the efforts of the SMT, including engineers, subcontracts administrator, supplier quality assurance representatives, logistics engineers, cost account manager, scheduler, and material planner.

Coordinating and managing the execution of all phases of supplier performance, including planning, proposals, new capability development, production, testing, deliveries, and sustainment.

Conducting or coordinating review of supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents).

Reporting supplier status to Program Managers, GSC managers, and IPT Management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience; OR PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of experience.

Program and/or Project management experience managing multidisciplinary teams through complex engineering problems.

Experience working with government contracts.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications

Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Experience with aerospace electronic systems, communications systems, and/or payloads.

Experience as a cost account manager (CAM) or similar.

Experience with:

Managing suppliers as part of a government/DOD contract

Earned Value Management (EVM)

T&M, CPFF, FFP contract types

Supplier statement of work (SOW) generation

Requirements development / flow down

Contract negotiations

Technical evaluations of proposals

Product lifecycles and government acquisition processes relating to development, LRIP/production, sustainment

Repair management, DMSMS evaluations, MRP requirements

Salary Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000 – $256,400. Compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and, for high‑level positions, long‑term incentives.
