Overview This Director will lead sourcing for OR, Nursing, Interventional, Pharmacy, and Lab groups. The position manages a team of 25–28 sourcing professionals and may be based in the St. Louis or Kansas City area.

Role Purpose Provides strategic direction and daily management for all aspects of sourcing, including supplier relationship management, negotiations, and contract management. Leads the development and implementation of cutting‑edge sourcing and contracting strategies that minimize total cost of ownership for supplies and services while maintaining a customer‑focused culture and meeting diverse stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities
Recruits and retains a diverse team of high‑performing individuals, providing training and mentoring that develops both technical and leadership skills.
Collaborates with specialty teams, physician‑led clinical expert councils, and other stakeholders to identify and educate team members on vendor selection and sourcing strategies, guiding decisions that maximize leverage and minimize cost.
Develops and implements a supplier relationship management program that segments the vendor base and matches sourcing and contract management strategies. Creates balanced supplier scorecards for use in selection and business reviews.
Standardizes contract management processes to optimize workflow and ensure maximum benefit from implemented contracts.
Provides input on industry best practices and assists the vice president in developing and implementing BJC’s short and long‑term supply chain strategy. Works collaboratively with departmental and cross‑functional peers, develops policies and procedures that maximize efficiency, and ensures internal controls safeguard assets and meet regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements Education
Master’s Degree in Business or related field.
Experience
5–10 years of sourcing experience.
Preferred Requirements
10+ years of sourcing experience.
5–10 years of supervisory experience.
Healthcare experience preferred.
