Job Summary
Responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries as well as ensuring that mail is sorted, distributed, and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Functions
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries to the appropriate recipients or departments.
Process outgoing mail and packages, including preparing labels, packaging items securely, and arranging for pick‑up or delivery as required.
Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail, including tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and any necessary documentation.
Operate postage meters, mailing machines, and other mail processing equipment accurately and safely.
Assist in managing and organizing mailroom supplies, such as envelopes, labels, packaging materials, and postage.
Follow established procedures for handling and processing registered mail, certified mail, and other special deliveries.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of interoffice mail and packages.
Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Experience
Administrative/Clerical Experience 0‑1 year preferred
Mail Processing Experience 0‑1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with mailroom equipment, such as postage meters, mail sorting machines, and packaging materials.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and interact with employees at all levels.
Proficiency in using computer systems and software for tracking and recording mail operations.
Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights and sizes.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
