Position Information Position Number 409070 Working Title: Coordinator of Graduate Studies (Academic Program Management Specialist III) Job Title: Coordinator Job Type: Full-Time Department: Graduate Studies Admin Job Purpose: Guide prospective graduate students through the application process while maintaining the integrity of the University and compliance of Tennessee Tech Board of Trustees regulations as well as requirements set forth by the Graduate School Executive Committee.
Job Purpose This position also oversees the graduate admissions application system, SLATE, admissions workflow and personnel, Banner, BDM, Argos, and processes applications for admission to graduate programs. In addition, it is the primary contact for running iSQL reports to retrieve data related to graduate study for various surveys (NSF, Peterson’s Guide, US News & World Report, CGS/GRE, ACT, CGS). It coordinates with the colleges and departments the processes for admissions review and new program implementation and serves as the primary interface with TTU ITS staff and EM admissions.
Essential Functions
Oversees the graduate admissions team and workflow for the university.
Provides technical expertise in managing multiple software applications including SLATE, Banner, BDM, Argos and other systems.
Completes applications for admission, following university guidelines and requirements as needed.
Works closely with departments to ensure all criteria is met for admissibility.
Assists in resolving issues, both in systems, and in applicant problems.
Coordinates change of major, change of admission term and readmission applications.
Trains other admissions personnel.
Primary contact and collaborator with EM admissions, TTU ITS, and Slate technical support.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with four years of related professional experience.
Experience with the admissions process.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education.
Graduate degree from an accredited university.
Work Hours 8:00 – 4:30 M-F
Compensation And Benefits Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Pay grade 9. Benefits include accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, thirteen University holidays, medical and life insurance (shared cost), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
