Job Summary
Under the direction of a Supervising Right of Way Agent, the incumbent will serve as the Caltrans Right of Way Local Programs Utility Coordinator (RWLPUC). The incumbent provides oversight or reimbursed work for all private developer and Local Public Agency (LPA) projects on/off the state highway system, reviews and approves utility‑related work products, and assists LPAs to ensure eligibility for federal aid and timely project delivery.
Responsibilities
Provide oversight for private developer and LPA projects on/off the state highway system.
Review and approve utility‑related work products completed by LPA staff and contractors.
Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, state and federal laws.
Maintain high independence and assist LPAs to meet federal aid eligibility and project delivery schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of Caltrans Right of Way policies and procedures related to oversight of Local Agency utility relocation for Right of Way Certification.
Experience interacting with high‑level internal and external stakeholders and ability to resolve a utility‑related conflict (provide specific example).
Ability to stay on task, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
Possession of a valid driver’s license (required when operating a State‑owned or leased vehicle).
Eligibility determined by passing the Senior Right of Way Agent examination.
