Responsibilities

As a CPT I, you will meet CA state regulatory requirements and perform the following: 1) Skin puncture or venipuncture to obtain blood specimens and operate under Laboratory Director supervision; 2) Data entry, filing, and telephone communication; 3) Understand test terminology, demonstrate good communication and etiquette; 4) Employ proper phlebotomy techniques for all age groups; 5) Process specimens for microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank; 6) Process specimens for reference laboratory referral; 7) Stock routine supplies; 8) Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas; 9) Load specimens on automated instrumentation per policy; 10) Assist with hospital/OR sample pick‑up, sorting, inventory, supply ordering, faxing, and product deliveries; 11) Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current and valid state certification as a CPT I required.
  • BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Pay Transparency

Competitive compensation including $21.00 to $21.59 hourly rate and benefits; exact opening compensation depends on experience, credentials, and licensure.

Employment Details

Full‑time, Variable shift. Entry level seniority.
