Maintenance Engineer Location:

Elkhorn, NE

Worksite:

Must be able to work onsite.

Hours:

7AM – 3:30PM, weekends as needed.

Required Skills

High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment OR

Associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment OR

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

Proven track record of safe work with demonstrated safety leadership examples.

Ability to troubleshoot AC & DC drives systems, PLC and electrical controls.

Working knowledge of motor controls, programmable control logic & input and output.

Computer skills (MS Office).

Knowledge of SAP systems as it pertains to maintenance and operations a plus.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

TPM/Lean knowledge and application, including continual improvement process application.

Strong mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of External Device Monitoring and Safety Relays.

Knowledge of electrical standards, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E

Strong Electrical and mechanical troubleshoot skills (Hydraulic, pneumatic & mechanical drive systems, and Principle of operation)

Electrical skills (NEC, AC & DC circuits, 480V power distribution, industrial wiring).

Advance Electrical circuits

Advance PLC / hardwire logic circuits knowledge

Knowledge and use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.)

Knowledge of Motors, Drives, Sensors.

Read and interpret machine, electrical and facility drawings

Familiar with CMMS and Control systems.

Ability to be self-managed performing work unsupervised, re-priorities as necessary.

Must demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.

Good communication skills with operators, other technicians, and resources.

Ability to analyze data and make decisions/recommendations based on analysis.

Ability to integrate into all parts of the operation to support the facility in achieving our goals & objectives.

Understand how automated equipment and its components work.

Remain proficient with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical control systems, electromechanical systems, instrumentation, and fluid power.

Properly use mechanical and electrical tools and diagnostic instruments.

Understand the operating principles and function of the electrical control and power components and circuits utilized in automated equipment.

Operate, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial circuits used in control and distribution.

Have knowledge of Arch Flash, LOTO, PTWs, etc.

Nice to Have Certifications

OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E certification

Responsibilities

Respond and assist in recovery and repair of utilities and production equipment.

Troubleshoot failed electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic components utilizing basic and advanced problem‑solving techniques, requiring knowledge of various levels of test equipment up to and including predictive maintenance tools.

Complete assigned preventative maintenance actions utilizing developed standards as prescribed by OEM and engineering specifications, including minor and major overhauls, calibration, detailed inspections, and basic cleaning and lubricating.

Complete basic and advanced corrective action repairs supporting safety, quality, and equipment reliability.

Perform tolerance specific fabrication tasks utilizing shop equipment such as mills, lathes, drill press, and welding methods.

Utilize computerized maintenance management software such as SAP to review assigned work, generate work requirements, and document work completion details.

Support training of autonomous maintenance work groups (equipment operators) in the areas of principles of operation, basic equipment inspection, and routine maintenance activities.

Participate in basic and advanced problem‑solving initiatives intended to support site continual improvement, with knowledge of TPM or Lean initiatives desired.

Work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability are expected.
